SPI PARKING BRAKE

Steep Path Immobilize system (SPI) is a genuine new idea of using a rear brake in a scooter. If you want to be sure that your bike isn’t going to move when you leave it on a street this gear is for you! Moreover it can be very useful while stopping at the red light on sloped street avoiding the must of holding the brake lever all the time. Operating, especially the release is extremely quick and simple so you don’t lose your pole position on start.
SPI is designed for Vectrix VX-2 but can be also fitted in VX-1 and any other scooter.

Design of this set enables its installation without any modification in original Vectrix parts. Only the brake level axle bolt must be replaced and the whole system easily finds its place .

The idea came from the postmen’s need for leaving the bike on steep roads and so it was uniquely designed to fulfill their expectations.

SPI system

Steep Path Immobilize system design and name are registered.

Price 129 EUR. With 10 or more pieces in one order the price is meaningfully different.

  1. I’d love to have this for my non-vectrix e-scooter in my hilly city, but will it hold the brake for hours when it is used for a parking brake? I would think that even with a brake syatem in good condition, the hydraulic brake pressure would “leak down” over a period on the order of hours, causing the brake to relax. It seems that a mechanical parking brake is needed, like a car has.

    • There is absolutely no possibility for the hydraulic brake to lose pressure and faint in hours. There is no air in this system and any lose of pressure would have to be connected with brake fluid leakage and it is unacceptable. It is a feature of all hydraulic systems all used in brakes as well cranes and elevators. So when your system is OK it will work perfectly.
